BOI, Foundation Commence Training of 131 Youths On Job Creation In Taraba


The Bank of Industry (BOI) in partnership with African Community Bridge Foundation (ACBF) on yesterday commenced training of 131 youth from Taraba and Adamawa in various entrepreneurial skills for job creation and self reliance.
Alhaji Dahiru Bala, the BOI branch manager in charge of Taraba, Adamawa and Gombe declared the one week training programme open in Jalingo.
Bala told the trainees that the move was the Federal Government deliberate policy aimed at equipping them with entrepreneurial skills and providing them with loans to undertake profitable businesses in order to boost the nation’s economy.

“This training is the FG’s deliberate policy to equip you with adequate entrepreneurial skills and provide you with loans to run profitable businesses in order to boost the economy.
“The training under the government’s Youth Empowerment Scheme Programme (YES-P), is structured in such a way that you can not just be self reliant but will also create jobs for many other youth in the process,” he said.

Bala explained that what the trainees were going to get from the bank after the training was not a grant but a loan which they would pay back within three years of doing the business.
