The Head of Media and Public Affairs, Mr. Abdulrazaque Bello-Barkindo addresses the controversy of the $418 payment to consultants. Mr. Barkindo stated that what the Nigeria Governors’ Forum is saying is that the matter should be handled in court.
“We are not saying that there are no liabilities. If the court proves that there are no liabilities, we will obviously not respond to the payment.”
NGF is seeking verification. We need a forensic audit for the entire process. They would be paid if they deserve payment and not if they do not.
Mr. Barkindo added that we must listen to what comes out from the court and not public opinion.
