The Joint Tax Board (JTB) led by its new Executive Secretary, Mrs. Obomeghie Nana- Aisha paid a courtesy visit to the NGF Secretariat. They were received by the Director-General of the NGF, Mr. Asishana B. Okauru.
In her speech, Mrs. Obomeghie said JTB is grateful to the NGF for the progress of having 21 states received financial and administrative autonomy. She requested for continuous collaboration with NGF in the push for more implementation and activities of how the stamp duty is captured in the law.
Mrs. Obomeghie also expressed willingness to deepen the already established relationship between the two organizations.
On his part, the DG said the issues discussed are significant. Every governor must pay attention to revenue generation. He emphasized on the need to get specific about the issues. They would need to look at the laws and how it is captured.
He further stated that there should be a proper review to learn from the states what is working what is not. Also in attendance was the Executive Director of Strategy and Research in the Secretariat, Mr. Lateef O.T Shittu.
