The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) President Ayuba Wabba has said that the labour would not back down on the proposed N30, 000 as minimum wage.
Speaking to Daily Trust yesterday on phone, Wabba said the N30, 000 was arrived at in line with the tripartite negotiation procedure as enshrined in convention 1 of ILO and in due consultation with state governors.
He said, “The state governors were represented by six of their colleagues, one representing each of the six geo political zones. Outside that there were public hearings in Abuja and in six geopolitical zones where 12 of them actually quoted figure before we arrived at the figure.”
Wabba said the labour would go ahead with the planned strike action should the government refused to pay the agreed N30, 000.
