The office of the Auditor-General for Local Government in Lagos State says it is set to embark on a state-wide project inspection in all the 57 council areas in the state. The Acting Auditor-General for local governments, Mrs Adesumbo Abolarin, who made this known in a statement on Monday, said the outcome of the inspection would be published.
She said, “This year’s exercise will commence on October 11, 2018, and terminate on October 26, 2018, with specific attention paid to projects undertaken and completed between January and December 2017.
“Professionally qualified engineers from the Ministry of Waterfront Infrastructure, Ministry of Housing and Ministry of Transportation have been co-opted to strengthen the audit teams.
“The project inspection exercise will start with the inauguration of a completed legislative building of the Ifelodun Local Council Development Area.
“It is necessary to remind the local governments/councils that the outcome of the inspection will be widely circulated. Councils are enjoined to cooperate with the inspection teams towards timely completion of the assignment.”
