The Oyo State Government says it will host another edition of the Federal Government Special Town Hall meeting on Thursday (today).
According to a statement by the Oyo State Government, the special town hall meeting is focused on infrastructure, in line with one of the cardinal objectives of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration of infrastructural revival and accelerated development of railways, roads, industries and power.
The statement said the meeting would hold at the Emeritus Professor Theophilus Ogunlesi Hall, Opposite UCH, by 10:00 am.
The state Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Mr Toye Arulogun, said in the statement that the town hall meeting would be an avenue for the Federal Government’s delegation to communicate government’s policies and activities.
He added that feedback would also be received on infrastructural development as the state Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, would be the host.
Arulogun stated that the meeting would provide a platform for stakeholders in the construction and transport sectors, policymakers and the general public to gainfully engage with the federal cabinet ministers in discussing the journey so far, the challenges and the way forward in the provision of massive infrastructure within the limited resources of the nation.
He added that the Honourable Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Muhammed, would be accompanied to the town hall meeting by the ministers of Power, Works & Housing; Water Resources; Finance and Budget; and Health and National Planning.
