Oral Africa Care, a UK based non-governmental organisation, in collaboration with El Charis Initiative for Africa, Akwa Ibom State, have distributed tooth brushes, tooth pastes and mouth wash to over 1,000 less privileged children.
The distribution was carried out in Nakpo Grammar School in Ibesikpo Asutan, Shalom Community Orphanage home in Esit Eket, Community Primary School in Ukana, Essien Udim and Leprosy Hospital, Ekpene Ebom, Etinan local government areas, after a demonstration of the most effective way of brushing the teeth was taught to the children.
Speaking during the Dental Health Outreach, Executive
Director of Oral Africa Care, Mrs Vivian Teprah said it was important for parents to take their children to a dentist every six months to avoid teeth problems.
Also speaking, the founder of El Charis Initiative for
Africa, Mr. Ekemini Ukim said parents should take special interest in the personal hygiene of their children.
In her remarks, the Director of Shalom Community Orphanage home, Mrs Janet Evans expressed gratitude for the help rendered by the charity organisations.
