The advanced medical Diagonastic center being constructed by the sokoto State Government in the state capital is to serve patients from sokoto, kebbi, katsina, Zamfara States and Niger republic when completed.
Governor Aminu waziri Tambuwal of sokoto State disclosed this Saturday while briefing newsmen shortly after he paid an unscheduled inspection visit to the project site at Farfaru.
Tambuwal further said that the project which reaches 65 to 70 percent stage of civil work when on stream would go along way in stemming medical tourism.
Senior Special Adviser to the Governor, Abdullahi S Danko further said the governor while expressing satisfaction with the quality of the ongoing project said Government decided to establish the center as part of it’s commitment of providing effective and world class health Care delivery services to the people of the state. He therefore assured that the center would be commissioned within the next few months.
Conducting the governor round the project the site engineer Jerry. Igdoko assured the governor that the project would soon be delivered to the state government .
In a related development governor Aminu waziri Tambuwal has expressed satisfaction with the quality of total renovation work being executed by the state government through direct Labour at Sani DINGYADI UNITY SECONDARY SCHOOL SOKOTO.
The governor stated this Saturday while briefing newsmen shortly after he paid an unscheduled inspection visit to the school. Tambuwal said that Government decided to execute the project with a view to saving cost explaining that the project which would have been executed at the cost of about six hundred million Naira on contract basis is now being executed at a lesser cost of one hundred and ninety five million Naira. through direct Labour.
He therefore assured that adequate furniture and beddings would be provided to schools by the state government.
The governor commended the state Ministry for Basic and Secondary Education for coming up with the idea of executing the project through direct Labour but however assured that contracts for the execution of projects in schools would continue to be awarded by the state government.
Governor Tambuwal was accompanied to the inspection visit by the state Deputy Governor Manir Mohammed DanIya, state PDP chairman Alh Ibrahim Milgoma and senior Government officials.
